I began my career as a volunteer at West Mecklenburg High School. I quickly became a substitute teacher. After being consistent and teaching the lesson plans left by teachers, I was asked to become full time as a teacher assistant. Two years later, I became an exceptional needs teacher at West Mecklenburg High School. I remained in this position for two years and eventually became a Health and Physical Education Teacher at Wilson Middle School. After seven years in the classroom, I was asked to become a Dean of Students at Wilson Middle School while serving as the Athletic Director. After seven years, (again) I moved to West Mecklenburg High School to become the Dean Of Students for the 10th and 11th grade students. After a year and a half, I accepted a promotion to Assistant Principal at Butler High School. I served at Butler High School for five and half years, and while I was the administrator for the senior class, I led the school to its highest graduation rate in the school's history of 92%. I soon transitioned back to Wilson STEM Academy as the assistant principal and helped to open the school and set the teams, structures, systems, vision and mission. After three years, I was offered the Principalship at Grandview Middle School in Hickory, NC. While there, I helped to lead the school to its highest growth in one year, in the school's history. Two years later, I was offered the principalship at CC Griffin Middle School where I helped the school to obtain the "STEM Model School of Distinction." Now, I am looking forward to leading the Performance Learning Center (PLC) High School to accomplish great things in the future.
